Chemical Industry Corporation is a state-owned group held by Ethiopian Investment Holdings and established by Council of Ministers Regulation No. 280/2005 (E.C.). Its consolidated IFRS statements cover the business units it controls — Mugher Cement Factory, Batu Caustic Soda Factory, Awash Melkassa Chemical Factory, Adami Tulu Pesticide Processing Factory, and the rubber tree plantation and processing project — with revenue arising mainly from sales of cement, pesticide and herbicide, caustic soda, quicklime, aluminium sulphate, sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide and dry rubber sheet. Its financial year ends 30 June.
Revenue rose 7% to ETB 5.98bn for the year ended 30 June 2025 but profit after tax fell to ETB 738.37M as cost of sales rose to ETB 3.96bn, selling, marketing and administrative expenses rose to ETB 731.96M and finance charges rose to ETB 37.55M. Operating cash flow was negative at ETB 35.71M as inventories rose by ETB 1.75bn, and a dividend of ETB 378.63M was paid.
