Why the numbers differ

NBE annual commodity tables are the historical reference. Ministry and presidential statements remain separate provisional observations. BACI reconciles partner-reported customs flows on calendar years; gold and partner coverage differ. None of these series is summed with another.

NBE uses July–June quarters. Government statements refer to 8 July–7 July. The displayed source periods are retained without moving trade between years.

The record is for merchandise, including electricity. Services are separate. These are current US dollars, without an inflation adjustment.

NBE’s annual editions can revise gold, electricity and commodity classifications. Destination data retain quarterly editions and their own totals; some historical quarters do not reconcile as printed. Blank annual destination cells remain missing.

Unspecified includes electricity sold to data miners. Quarterly totals can differ from revised annual commodity totals; they retain their own denominator.

An unambiguous electricity figure is not available for this year, so the excluding-electricity total cannot be calculated. Utility foreign-currency receipts have a different scope.

Separate calendar-year series. Partner reports miss most gold; the latest year has incomplete partner coverage. Never add it to NBE or government figures.

One year, several published figures

These are dated statements, not a final NBE release. The latest figure is retained as provisional until the full tables are available.

Product and sector statements · separate versions

These observations have different issuer definitions and dates. Sector aggregates overlap their products and must not be added. Ministry gold production/supply differs from NBE export receipts. Utility FX receipts include domestic FX-settled sales. Quantities here are tonnes; meat volume is a reported lower bound.

How changes are calculated

Compare consecutive NBE fiscal years. Unit value is export value ÷ quantity, not a market-price index. Quality and product mix can also change it.

Change = Δunit value × prior volume + Δvolume × prior unit value + interaction. Mixed or missing quantities are not decomposed.

2017 → 2018 EFY · Capital’s rounded statement series only. Other goods are the calculated residual. This is an indicative bridge, not an NBE commodity reconciliation.
